Under the slogan "Hijab our Choice, our Freedom, our Right", the Canadian Muslim Women Committee organized an exhibition on Muslim women's role and hijab, a first of its kind in Montreal, Canada. The event was held at the Centre Des Loisirs de St-Laurent, on Sunday September 4th 2005, to stand in solidarity with our sisters all over the world.

The Canadian Muslim Women Committee denounces the discriminatory spirit and propagandist Islamophobic elements of the law introduced by the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) and recently passed by the National Assembly which refused the presence of a platform of Muslim arbitration to regulate matrimonial conflicts.
